David MacFadden

David McFadden – Chairman of the Board Chief Curator and Vice President for Programs & Collections at the Museum of Arts & Design in New York City. He served as Executive Director of the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, New Mexico. From 1978-1995 he was with the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York, Smithsonian Institution He graduated magna cum laude at the University of Minnesota, where he also received an M.A. in the same subject (History of Art). Mr. McFadden has published over 90 books, articles, catalogues, and reviews worldwide, and has delivered over 200 lectures and papers to national and international audiences. For Scandinavian Modern Design 1880-1980, he received the Wittenborn Prize; and for Wine: Celebration and Ceremony, the Presidential Design Award, which he won in 1994, 1995 and 1997. For his work in cultural affairs, McFadden has been names Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland (1984), Knight Commander of the Order of the Polar Star Sweden by King Gustav VI (1988) and Chavalier de l’Ordres des Arts et des Lettres by the Republic of France (1989).
